How much to buy?
The best advice I have for buying boxes, tape, packing paper, etc. is to go to your local Home Depot or Lowes and buy at least twice as much as you think you'll need. Remember in most cases you can always return unused/unopened items once you're done packing. I also recommend ordering items online for pickup at your local store to save yourself time and energy.
Which size boxes?
Medium tends to be the most useful on the average job. But be sure to pick up some small and large boxes as well. Small boxes are best for fragile items like china and glassware. Large/X-Large boxes will come in handy for exceptionally tall items and large kitchen appliances, cutting boards, lamps, etc.
Best way to pack up the bathroom?
Use Zip Lock bags to hold small clusters of items from drawers and shelves. It helps limit spills and makes unpacking easier.
Best way to pack hanging clothes?
Wardrobe boxes are great, but they are expensive and cumbersome. Another option is contractor bags. Cut a hole in the bottom of the bag to pull the hanger through and cover your clothes. Knot the base in case any items fall off of hangers during transport.
